NCCA, USTP CDO conducts seminar workshop on culture-based video lesson production

USTP CAGAYAN DE ORO. Student teachers from the College of Science and Technology Education (CSTE) of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) – CDO participated in a ten day seminar – workshop on Culture – Based Video Lesson Production held at the Performing Arts Theatre on November 6 – 15, 2017.

In partnership with the National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA), the ten day workshop was mainly centered on the use of local cultural icons in Cagayan de Oro City in making culture – based video lesson. Serving as resource speakers were Mr. Roy Vincent R. Sadicon, Prof. Fernando T. Capilitan, and Prof. Rhyndl Nephi-z T. Luczon whose talks centered on the aspects of cultural heritage, its importance in education, and the fundamentals of filmmaking and video editing.

The event was concluded with the announcement of the winning entries. The candle making video from the Bachelor in Secondary Education – Technology and Livelihood Education (BSEd – TLE) harbored third place while the discussion of the concept of force using the Filipino heritage game “tumbang preso” as a demo video courtesy of the Bachelor in Secondary Education – Physical Sciences (BSEd – PS) won second place. Taking home the first place was the instructional video regarding the principles of angles and sides of the   Bachelor in Secondary Education – Mathematics (BSEd – Math). (Lee Marvin J.
